MADRID
I went to Madrid for 3 days this week for a residency appointment. Me and Hermana Funk had appointments so we basically did another exchange. But it was loco. We had a flight Wednesday morning but because of one missed bus and problem after another, we missed our flight by about 10 minutes. Anyways we responded and called the office in Madrid. We went to the desk and looked really sad and they let us schedule a flight at 2 later that day for a whopping 200€. All is well now, we pray, we laugh, and we continue on. Being in Madrid was so fun because it was cold and cloudy and rainy and it reminded me that there are seasons and it’s actually October. It feels like July here.
FACEBOOK AND MIRACLES
So one of the friends we found on facebook turns out to be GOLDEN. I didn’t think it was going to go anywhere and he didn’t show up for our two lessons but then through patience and persistence, he invited his friend and his friend’s aunt. So we started teaching them and it is going well. They came to church last week which was a miracle. They showed up to English class and this week they invited another friend to church!! WOW. That was 4 friends. We have some members who have built strong relationships with them so we are doing lessons with them as well. Members are key to missionary work and I am so impressed with these members. They are literally missionaries without tags because they know how important this work is.
BAPTISMAL DATE
We put one of our friends on date for baptism. He has the desire and we are going to keep teaching him the lessons. He is on vacation right now so we are working on getting him to church.
TRUST IN GOD
If you put your trust in God he will support you in all your trials and afflictions. Read Alma 37. Pray in everything you do. Start and end with a prayer and do everything in the name of the Lord. He will direct thee for good. Seek not to counsel with the Lord but to take from His counsel.
Anyways we have some people from Ukraine and Russia in our ward. There are a lot of Venezuelans, Cubans, Bolivians, Etc. All of them are not here because they want to but more because they had no other choice. It really is heart breaking. I know I have a home and a family that is safe. These people especially the Russians and Ukrainians have no idea where they are going to live or when they will be able to go home. They don’t know Spanish and many of them are split up from their families. Be grateful for everything we have. The world needs this gospel. The answer is Jesus. It is always Jesus.
ONE THOUGHT
Children are an heritage of the Lord. Children are the most important members of society. At all costs we must protect children. We must teach them in their youth to love one another, to keep the commandments, and to recognize the spirit. They are so impressionable. Be careful what you say and how you act for they are the future. They understand more than we give them credit for. They can feel the spirit and the veil is thin around them. They are the hope of the future.
